Honda Active 5G unveiled – Specs, Features, Photo Gallery

Honda 2 Wheelers India has officially launched the next generation, i.e. the 5th gen. Honda Active bike. The fifth generation of the successful scooter is said to come with subtle changes to the design but there are some excellent new features added to it. The company claimed that over 3.4 crore Honda Activa units have been sold till now. The new Honda Active 5G comes in two new colors including Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red.

While it was showcased in one color, the scooter will be sporting almost all the colors that the previous version had, and we are not yet told about the price and availability of the Active 5G.

Specifications

The Honda Activa 5G comes with a 109cc engine that was previously seen on the Activa 4G. The engine produces a peak power output of 8bhp at 7500rpm and has a peak torque of 9Nm at 5500rpm. The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and the fuel tank in the Active 5G has a maximum capacity of 5.3 liters. The total weight of the Scooter is an acceptable 108kgs. The dimensions of the Honda Activa 5G have remained unchanged and still measures 1,761mm long, 710mm wide. The Wheelbase of the Activa 5G measures 1,238mm and has a ground clearance of 153mm.

Features

The Activa 5G comes with 10-inch wheels and have 90/100 tires. The Scooter retains the drum brakes from the previous generations that are assisted by the Honda’s Combi Brake assist. The Scooter now comes with all-LED headlamps and also have position lights which is the first time ever in an Indian scooter and this is expected to save the scooter some power drain by a regular AHO unit.

The other aesthetic changes include the new chrome highlights and a metal silencer protector. Also, the Scooter now comes with the all-new Dazzle Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red colors. The LED headlamp is limited to the Deluxe variant and the analog-digital instrument cluster now has an ECO Speed and service due indicator to simplify things for the users.

Availability

This revision was mainly to bring in additional features that were previously seen on the Grazia scooter, the LED headlights and the 4-in one locking system are now a part of the Honda Active 5G. It is expected to be priced around the same as the previous generations of Activa and is expected to be available soon.
