Datsun Cross expected to launch in Indian Auto Expo 2018

Datsun was relaunched in 2013 by Nissan for more budget-friendly offerings and received an immensely positive response from the Indian crowd. It now caters to the emerging markets and offers more basic cars compared to the parent brand. Despite the initial positive response, Nissan couldn’t help boosting up their sales even with Datsun. Datsun is now launching a few more cars with a hope of improving their sales and the Cross 7 is one of the first ones that will be coming out.

Specifications

The Datsun Cross is expected to come with a 1.2 L Petrol engine that will produce 68 PS Power and provide 104Nm torque. The car will be coming with a 5-speed manual gearbox and has 2 airbags for safety. The car comes with most of the common features and also has ABS for controlled stopping power. There will also be a more powerful variant with 78PS peak power output, this is intended for those who want a little more from their cars.

Features

This new car from Datsun is based on the CMF-A+ platform and designed like a crossover. The car is elegantly designed with a signature chrome grille and has LED Headlamps, LED Taillights, and even LED fog lights. The Datsun Cross even has skid plates, front and back roof rails for extra luggage and a floating spoiler with brake light to make the design even better. The wheels on the car is a 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheel.

The device also comes with traction control to maintain a better group on the road. The aircon vents are laid out in the middle and on each end. The steering wheel comes with a two-tone design and is rare for a car in this price segment.

Pricing

The Datsun Cross 2018 is expected to be launched in India early next year. The car is expected to compete with Maruti Ignis, Ford EcoSport and is expected to be priced between 5-8 lakhs.
