Hero Xtreme 200s to launch on January 30th, might have 200cc air-cooled engine

Hero MotoCorp has finally released a teaser of the upcoming Hero Xtreme 200 S, after quite a delay, we are finally going to seeing the bike getting official on January 30th. The Xtreme 200 series was shown as a prototype back in 2016 Auto Expo but then, there was not much of an update released anytime, until now.

The Hero Xtreme 200s comes in contention with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS200, and it is expected to come powered by the all-new 200cc air-cooled engine that is able to develop 18.6PS at 8,500rpm and generates 17.2 Nm at 6,000rpm. The bike also has a new frame, which allows for the mono suspension. The design, according to Hero MotoCorp, is inspired from the silhouette of a Cheetah.

The current Xtreme from the company has a slightly different headlamp and tail lamp, and thus the entire design of the bike seems like an upgraded one. Also, to add to it, the Hero Xtreme 200s will be the first bike from Hero to come with ABS. The bike will also get a digital-analogue hybrid instrument cluster. The chassis includes front and rear disc brakes, front telescopic suspension, and a rear mono-shock suspension. It will be a four-stroke engine and the top speed is said to be 120 Kmph, but we are yet to confirm the same.

The teaser video from the company shows the animation of a bike going from Jaipur to Delhi, probably from the company’s Centre of Innovation and Technology to Delhi, where the Auto Expo 2018 is going to happen. The same year when the Xtreme 200 was showcased, Hero had also showed the concept of HX250, which is not going to see the light of the day.

We will learn more about the Hero Xtreme 200s at the Auto Show 2018, and given how Hero puts up its lineup against Bajaj and TVS, the pricing should be aggressive.
