Huawei P10 vs P9 Comparison – Dual-camera magic got an upgrade?

Whenever a flagship launches, we always look for sources to start comparing it with its predecessor. Huawei has introduced the P10 flagship at the on-going MWC 2017 event in Barcelona. The Huawei P10 is the successor to the P9 that was launched last year in association with Leica. Though the P9 is still a very excellent device with its impressive camera and good performance, the P10 promises to enhance the experience even further. So, does the P10 worth upgrading from the P9? Let’s find that out now.

Huawei P10 vs. P9 – Display:

With the P10, Huawei has reduced the display size by 1” at 5.1-inches Full HD 1080p display compared to the 5.1-inch display with the same 1080p panel. However, the P10 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. While the P9 has no sort of protection.

Huawei P10 vs. P9 – Hardware:

In the hardware department, the P10 is powered by the Kirin 960 SoC which is an upgrade over the Kirin 950 Soc seen on the Huawei P10. Huawei has also upgraded the P10 even in the RAM category with 4GB RAM on board compared to 3GB on the P9.

In the battery department, the Huawei P10 rocks a 3,200mAh unit, while the P9 has just 3000mAh in comparison. None of them comes with any sorts of Fast charging technology which seems like a letdown.

Huawei P9 vs. P10 – Camera: The Huawei P9 has a fantastic camera which not just surprised many but also bought the legendary Leica cameras to smartphones. Now with the P10, Huawei has once again followed the same suit. The Huawei P10 features a dual rear camera setup with 20-megapixel (Monochrome) + 12-megapixel (RGB) with Leica SUMMARIT 27mm lenses, f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, OIS. Which is quite a significant upgrade especially in the monochrome mode, as the P9 just had a 12-megapixel monochrome camera.

This time around you get 4K video recording option, while the P9 was just limited to 1080p at 60fps. On the front, the P10 and P9 both pack the same 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video chats.

Rest of the generic specifications remain the same. The listed out categories are the major changes that we’ve noticed with the P9 and P10. Are you upgrading to P10 from P9? Let us know.
