This is one segment where both the devices are equally placed, both the yunique and yuphoria run on the same 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC with Adreno 306GPU to help with graphics. So in the processor front there is not much to choose from as both run on the same SoC.

    RAM and Storage

Here comes the major difference, with the Yunique having a 1GB RAM compared to the 2GB RAM in the Yuphoria. With the same processor the difference in RAM will surely affect the performance of the Yunique in comparison to its elder sibling the Yuphoria. The Yunique comes with 8GB internal storage, whereas the Yuphoria has 16GB internal storage space. Both the devices can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD card.

This is another segment where the difference can be seen, the Yunique comes with 2MP front camera while the Yuphoria sports a 5MP front camera. Both the devices have similar 8MP rear cameras with auto focus and LED flash. The Rs. 2,000 price difference surely can be seen in terms of the front camera adjustment.

With the option of selecting either Stock Android or Cyanogen the Yunique will surely be faster and more customizable in comparison to the Yuphoria.

The YU Yunique has a 2000mAh Li-Polymer battery in comparison to the 2230 Li-ion battery although both the devices give out similar battery life with the Yunique giving 7 hours talk time and 271 hours of standby time while the Yuphoria giving 7 hours of talk time and 160 hours of stand by time.

The RAM will be one choosing factor, along with the front camera with just a 2MP shooter in the front which makes taking good selfies a distant dream. There is one another major factor which should be considered here, the “Cost” with a smaller screen and lower RAM along with internal storage, the Yunique is Rs. 2,000 cheaper than the Yuphoria. Look for all the features which you would like to have and decide which is the best device for you. To put it in shot the YU Yunique is a YU Yuphoria on diet and nothing is unique about it as the name goes.
