Infocus Kangaroo nano PC launched as world’s smallest PC with Windows 10

With the size of smartphones becoming bigger by the day, the size of computers is becoming smaller and smaller and InFocus has joined the race to launch the smallest PC with Windows 10 OS on it called the Kangaroo.  With the claim to be the world’s smallest desktop computer which measures 124mm x 80.5mm x 12.9mm  and is roughly the size of a smartphone.

The American company, InFocus has kept the device compact with the weight kept under 200 grams without the power cord and adapter. InFocus has managed to put an HDMI port, one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port and a DC power port into the compact device. Keeping the size aside lets look at the specs on the inside.

Infocus Kangaroo

The InFocus Kangaroo is powered by a quad-core Intel Cherrytail Atom x5-Z8500 processor clocked at 1.44GHz with a burst frequency of 2.24GHz to help you get through those situations where you need more power. It is supported by 2GB LPDDR3 RAM (quite low for a Desktop) and 32GB of eMMC internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using microSDXC card. It comes with Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity features, it is powered by a battery which the company promises will keep the device running for four hours of casual use and to get it charged you have a Micro-USB port.

If you are interested in this compact PC which can be useful for regular travelers, you can get one for $99 which is approximately Rs. 6,500 and the device is available in United States from today through online retail website Newegg.com. You can get the Kangaroo from Microsoft store as well starting from November.

There are other options as well like the HP Pavilion Mini PC which we had reviewed earlier and it surely does the job although priced almost 4 times that of the Kangaroo, you can also consider the Lenovo Stick PC 300 which is even smaller with the size of a USB drive and has similar specs without the Ports given in the Kangaroo. Keep one thing in mind, do not expect these devices to handle all your work flawlessly with the specifications at offer, you can only do things like browsing, watching full-HD videos and simple games without problem. But when it comes to some higher performance requirements these portable PC’s are not the ones for it.
