Coolpad Note 3 FAQ, Pros & Cons: All You Want to Know

The Coolpad Note 3 was launched in India for the price of Rs. 8999, and it has enough to challenge the likes of Lenovo A7000, Lenovo K3 Note, Xiaomi Redmi Note, Meizu M2 Note, Yu Yureka and the other smartphones from companies like Lava, Intex, etc.

While we might already call this as one of the best devices in its price range, the question might not be that easy to answer as there will be several other things running in the user’s mind. We try to answer each of them below in the FAQ, having the most frequently asked questions.

What is the processor, GPU and RAM included in Coolpad Note 3?

The Coolpad Note 3 comes packed with a Mediatek MT6753 processor, with octa-core chipset having 64-bit architecture and clocking at 1.3 GHz, and along with that is a Mali T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

What are the sensors included in the Note 3?

The sensors that we see in the device, include the G-sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Gyroscope, Linear acceleration sensor, rotation vector sensor and the fingerprint sensor.

How is the build quality of the Coolpad Note 3?

When Coolpad called it the baby skin experience on the back of the phone, it felt a bit odd. But in reality, it is actually a very smooth back panel, which feels very good in the hand. The phone isn’t really slim and for that size, it seems pretty large but it isn’t uncomfortable to hold in the hand.

Does the phone heat up during intensive gaming?

Yes, we did notice the phone to heat up a little and it touched the 46-degree mark while playing games for over 30 minutes continuously, but it still is okay because it is the fingerprint scanner area where the device tends to heat up and not anywhere else. The screen area does not heat up that much when compared to the back of the phone.

While performing heavy benchmarks or using the camera for sometime, it warmed a bit and that’s it.

How is the gaming performance on the Coolpad Note 3?

The Note 3 was able to play games such as Dead Trigger 2, Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8 very well, with no issues in performance and no compromise on the graphics quality. It was set to default on Asphalt 8 and we rarely saw any frame drops, though Modern Combat 5 had a little lag on the toughest times where even some top-end devices stutter a little.

Overall the gaming performance of the Coolpad Note 3 is good. The heating issue might be of a little concern to a few users as mentioned above.

What are the pre-installed apps in the Note 3?

The apps that come pre-installed in the phone include Google apps, Rock wallpaper, fingerprint management, CoolShow, FP Lock, FM Radio, Memo, Record, Clear, CoolStore, Cool Service, Amazon India, Facebook, WPS Office, Xploree, WeChat and WhatsApp.

Are the capacitive touch buttons outside the screen backlit?

The navigation buttons are outside the display, below it and with a silver color, but they are not backlit even on active screen.

How many SIM card slots are there in the Note 3?

There are two SIM card slots in the phone, and both are MicroSIM card slots. There is a separate MicroSD card slot located just alongside the second SIM card slot.

What is the OS running in the Coolpad Note 3?

Android 5.1 is what you see running in the device, but it isn’t the stock ROM. Coolpad phones come with a COOL UI, and here you will see the COOL UI 6.0 layered over Android Lollipop in the Note 3.

How much RAM is available to the user after a fresh boot?

About 2.1GB of RAM is available to the user after a fresh boot, as the overall RAM that is given in the phone is 3GB.

What is the SAR Value of the Note 3?

The SAR value of the phone is 1gm wt/kg at head, and 1gm wt/kg at body.

Is the battery in the phone removable?

No, the battery is not removable and it is embedded under a layer after removing the back cover.

How does the Coolpad Note 3 perform with benchmarks?

Does Coolpad have service centres in India for after-sales support?

  1. i am having issue for connecting wifi. my device is not at all connecting to wifi..but it do connect to wifi hotspot …what to do for same

    1. boot in safe mode for some time and than boot in normal mod and restart problem will be gone

  2. unfortunately launcher has stopped
    I was facing this problem from few days after restart or power on/off
    what i have to do
