Lenovo K4 Note FAQ – Everything you wanted to know

Lenovo’s K series has been one of the very well known ones, with a great value for money offered by the devices. The Lenovo K3 Note was regarded as one of the best selling phones on its online retailer Flipkart, and the company has now come up with the Lenovo K4 Note smartphone with some decent specs on the list, and some much-needed features.

How is the build quality of Lenovo K4 Note?

The phone looks great on design, and the curvy body makes it quite comfortable to hold even for the big screen size of 5.5-inch. The metallic edges are chamfered, and that too helps quite a bit in making the phone look and feel sturdy enough.

Yes, there is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection given on the K4 Note.

Are the navigation buttons having LED backlight?

The navigation buttons below the screen on the phone have a border to indicate which button is for which function, but it doesn’t light up much and has a reddish border.

What 4G LTE bands are supported by Lenovo K4 Note?

The 4G LTE connectivity is supported by Lenovo K4 Note, and here are the bands supported – FDD LTE Band 1/3/5/7/8/20, and TDD LTE Band 40/41.

Does Lenovo K4 Note have USB OTG support?

Yes, the K4 Note supports USB OTG connectivity for easier and faster transfer of content to OTG drivers.

How much free RAM is there in Lenovo K4 Note on first boot?

While checking for the first time, we saw about 1.9GB RAM to be available for free to the user when the device was rebooted. This is an advantage for the users over K3 Note, which had about 1.1GB RAM left.

What is the processor and GPU in Lenovo K4 Note?

The company has retained the same processor as in the K3 Note, i.e. Mediatek MT6753 octa-core 64-bit chipset clocking at 1.3GHz, and it has ARM Mali-T720 GPU for the graphic output support.

How is the gaming performance on Lenovo K4 Note?

We are yet to get a proper hands-on and play some high-end games on the K4 Note, but given how well the Lenovo Vibe S1 with similar configuration did with gaming, we expect it to be good on the k4 Note as well.

Does the Lenovo K4 Note heat or has any heating issues while playing games?

There was no heating noticed, but just a bit of warm feel on the back of the phone, when the camera app was running for about 15-20 minutes. For gaming, as said above, we are yet to test it fully.

On the initial check, the K4 Note’s 13-megapixel camera with F/2.2 aperture is not much different from how the K3 Note fared with the quality, and it is indeed quite decent in quality. The low light performance is not really great, but the dual LED flash helps in getting appreciable captures.

What are the camera features available in the app?

Following are the camera features available for the user to take advantage of – Auto – ISO, Auto – White balance, Auto Focus mode, face recognition, high dynamic range (HDR), real-time filters, 5 Selfie Trigger, Auto Beautification.

How much internal storage is free for the user?

About 9.7GB internal storage is available to the user out of the 16GB storage that is internally provided in the K4 Note.

What are the Android version, pre-installed apps on K4 Note?

The K4 Note will run Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, and there is Lenovo’s Vibe UI layered over it. There are quite a lot of pre-installed apps, and some important ones include Secure Zone, Shareit, SyncIt, and others that are a usual part of the Lenovo’s UI – including Google apps.

How much external MicroSD storage is supported by Lenovo K4 Note?

While internal storage is not much, Lenovo’s K4 Note supports a MicroSD card and the storage expansion can be done by about 128GB.

Does the K4 Note have Dolby Atmos?

Yes, the phone has Dolby Atmos technology for the front-facing speakers, and to add to it, the K4 Note has a TheaterMax experience for VR playing.

Is there a secondary noise cancellation mic on the phone?

There are not two, but three mics in total. This is done for the support with Wolfson audio codec to filter out ambient noise and enhance sound input and recording.

What are the types of SIM supported by Lenovo K4 Note?

The phone supports two MicroSIM cards, and the MicroSD card slot is separately available on the device.

Can I change themes on the Lenovo K4 Note?

Yes, there is a Themes section separately available on the phone, so you can change the themes from the available ones though they are limited in number.

Does the Lenovo K4 Note have a fingerprint sensor?

Yes, there is a fingerprint sensor included in the K4 Note, and it not just helps in security and unlocking the screen, but it has some gesture features like quickly taking a photo, opening recent apps, and also work as a back button.

Does the phone support double-tap-to-wake function?

Yes, the Lenovo’s UI includes a Knock to Wake function, where double tapping on a turned-off screen will activate it. Though, the feature, this time, might not be very useful, as the fingerprint scanner provided on the back will be much easier to use and unlock the phone.

What are the sensors included in the k4 Note?

The sensors that are provided in the phone include Gyroscope, Light sensor, Accelerometer, and Proximity sensor.

What is the battery capacity?

The phone comes with a 3300 mAh battery, and it is a Li-ion battery.
