The Honor 7x comes as a big successor to the Honor 6x, and with many improvements and upgrades, the phone does deserve to be crowned the best mid-range phone of the year 2017. But, what makes it get that tag or appreciation? There are some major reasons for the phone to excel in some areas, and below, we talk about them.
Mind you, we have done the comparison with the two other major phones in the video that we are showing here, but here, we are talking only about the reasons why we felt that the phone deserves the accolades that it is getting.
The phone boasts a beautiful design. A unique way of camera placement on the back and the full metal body makes the device look different and sturdy. While we have seen some very common designs in the phones at this price range, the Honor 7x has a refreshing look.
It isn’t the standard 5.5-inch display that has been a common inclusion in most, as Honor had stepped up to offer a 5.93-inch Full HD+ display, with the 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution. It is a sharp display with a good color ouput as well. It is this wide display taking up most of the space on the front that makes it a phone that is almost the size of a regular 5.5-inch device but the actual size of the display here is larger.
Cameras on the back
One has to easily trust Honor’s cameras to do well, as that has been the case in the past couple of years, with every phone having an excellent set of cameras. The Honor 7x has a dual-lens camera combination of 16MP + 2MP cameras and that combination works quite well in the portrait shots, while the primary camera does a wonderful job in retaining colors and taking advantage of the different modes that are included.
While using the phone, it was well tested against the likes of Xiaomi Mi A1 and the Moto G5s Plus, and in the comparison as well it was clear that the Honor 7x has a better camera.
UI Features including Wi-Fi Bridge
The interface is very different from the stock Android interface that you see on the other devices in this price range. There are loads of good features included in the EMUI interface, and some of them are very useful. For example, the Wi-Fi Bridge functionality has been one of the best to be offered. The feature helps extend the Wi-Fi connectivity and it is helpful where a particular Wi-Fi router is allowing only a limited number of devices.
There are some good features just like this one on the Honor 7x that enhance the user experience, and one of the best ways to do that is by using the phone and learning what it has to offer in terms of the gestures and functions included.
The Honor 7x comes with a 3340 mAh battery, which does enough to make the phone last for a day easily. The UI is so well optimized that you would see an excellent standby with the least of the battery drain, but at the same time, using the phone actively as well does not use the battery quickly and you are ensured a day’s usage and for the regular users, easily over a day.
The performance of the Honor 7x smartphone is top-notch, with the Kirin 659 processor able to handle heavy usage at ease. Having better benchmark scores than the competitor chipsets in its price range, the Kirin 659 is also able to handle the intensive tasks well, proving what it claims to offer.
While most of the smartphones have the fingerprint sensor only for the security to unlock the screen, Honor’s phones come with a lot more than that. The Honor 7x is no exception as it offers quite a lot of features for that sensor located on the back of the device. While you can see it unlocking your phone with ease and at an unmatchable pace, the functions like dragging down the notification panel with a swipe, browse through the pictures in the Gallery, and also take photos with a tap and hold.
There are a lot of other things that can be said about the device but the ones we talked about here are the major seven features at which the Honor 7x excels.
