Chinese Electronics maker Xiaomi, celebrated its 8th Anniversary, with the launch of its flagship smartphone Mi 8 and many other devices, at the event held in Shenzhen, China, on May 31. Apart from the smartphones and the smartband, Xiaomi has also launched a new UHD smart TV, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 75-inches. The new smart TV is the largest TV Xiaomi has ever made. It has support for HDR media playback with Dolby Audio.
The Mi TV 4 features a 75-inch 4K HDR UHD LED display that has a 3840×2160p resolution. The TV has a 178° wide viewing angle. It operates at 60 Hz refresh rate and has a dynamic response time of 8ms. The Mi TV 4 is powered by a 1.8 GHz Quad-core Amlogic T966 processor and the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU clocked at 750 MHz. It has 2 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of internal eMMC 5.1 storage. The TV runs on Xiaomi’s own Patchwall UI based on Android which comes with Xiao AI voice assistant and other AI features that deliver curated content to the users.
The Mi TV 4 has two 8-watt speakers that supports Dolby audio and DTS HD dual audio encoding. For the connectivity, the TV has 3 HDMI 2.0 ports, 2 USB ports, an Ethernet port, an AV port, Dual band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.2 LE and a Mi Port, as well. The TV measures 11.4mm at its thinnest part and weighs around 35 kgs without the base attached.
The Mi TV 4 has support for H.265, H.263, Real 8/9/10, MPEG 1/2/4 media format playback. The TV comes with Mi Remote Control which can be used for gesture input and provide voice controlled input. Since the TV is built on Android, you should be able to install android apps from Google Play store.
Pricing and Availability of Xiaomi Mi TV 4
The 75-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 4 will be available only in Black color. The TV, priced at CNY 8,999 (USD 1403/ INR 94,170 approx.) is now up for pre-orders and would go on sale in China starting from, June 10th. The availability of the TV in other markets is still unknown.
For comparison the 55-inch Mi TV 4 from Xiaomi now retails for INR 44,999, in India, after the the recent price increase.
