HTC One M9+ Aurora announced with Helio X10 SoC and 21MP camera

HTC has announced a new variant of the One M9 called the One M9+ Aurora, it comes with a camera upgrade while the rest of the features are similar to the One M9+. The HTC One M9+ Aurora  comes with an improved 21MP rear camera  and does not come with a second camera like the earlier M9+ model. HTC also revealed another smartphone the Butterfly 3 in its event today. The M9+ Aurora sports a better camera set up with 21MP rear camera with 26.7mm lens, f/2.2 aperture, and the secondary camera is replaced by Laser Auto-focus to improve focusing speed.

The rest of the features are similar to the One M9+, both the devices sport a 5.2-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. It runs on a 2.2GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It is supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 2TB using microSD card. The 21MP rear camera comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) to improve the camera focus to minimize disturbances. The device comes with a Ultrapixel (4MP) front facing camera having aperture of f/2.0, 26.8mm lens, and 1080p video recording.

HTC One M9+ Aurora

The HTC One M9+ Aurora runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 UI. The fingerprint sensor is embedded into the Physical button present on the front of the device under the display, it also includes multi-directional touch-based sensors. It comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0m, GPS and GLONASS. It is powered by a 2840 mAh battery.

  • OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 UI
  • Battery: 2840 mAh battery
  • Connectivity: 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth and GPS with GLONASS

The HTC One M9+ Aurora will be available in Taiwan from October 15th, there was no announcement about the global release of this device. It is available in three colors Gold, Silver, and Grey and is priced at NT $20,900 or US $630 or Rs. 41,000 approximately.
