HTC Butterfly 3 with Snapdragon 810 SoC and 3GB RAM announced

HTC has officially announced its latest smartphone the Butterfly 3 which is the international variant of the HTV31 or J Butterfly which is available in Japan from May. The Butterfly 3 will be available in Taiwan from October 20th but there is no update about the global roll out. The HTC Butterfly 3 sports a 5.2-inch QHD LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

The HTC Butterfly 3 runs on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core  processor with 4 x 2.0 GHz + 4 x 1.4 GHz along with Adreno 430 GPU. It is supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space which is expandable up to 2TB using microSD card. The device is camera oriented packing two rear cameras, one with a 20MP lens and BSI sensor, 27.8mm lens, sapphire cover lens and aperture of f/2.2 with capability of recording 4K videos. The secondary camera on the back is to capture depth information. It comes with a 13MP front facing camera having BSI sensor, aperture of f/2.0, 28.2mm lens and capability of 1080p recording.

The Butterfly 3 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with HTC Sense 7UI over it. It comes with IPX7 ratings for dust and water resistance, it measures 150.99 x 72.99 x 9.99 mm in dimensions and weighs 161 grams in weight. It comes with Dual front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Audio. The HTC Butterfly 3 is powered by a 2700mAh battery, and comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, MHL 3.0 and GPS with GLONASS.

The HTC Butterfly 3 is available in three colors of white, carmine or red and midnight blue. It will be launched in Taiwan on October 20th and priced at TWD 19,900 which is around $600. the global pricing and availability is yet to be announced.
