Lenovo A6600, A6600 Plus and A7700 VoLTE enabled phones launched in India

Lenovo has added three new smartphones in the A series in India, and after the Lenovo A7000 that was launched quite a long time back, we are now seeing the entry of Lenovo A6600, A6600 Plus and A7700. These are all VoLTE enabled smartphones and Lenovo is betting on them to sell due to the compatibility with the Reliance Jio network, with which the Jio Welcome offer is going on right now.

Speaking on the announcement, Sudhin Mathur, Executive Director – Mobile Business Group, Lenovo India said, “The Lenovo A series is one of our star performers and last year, we sold a million plus units of A6000, A6000 Plus and A7000. Continuing the legacy, the A6600 and A7700 series offers brilliant performance with unparalleled user experience at a competitive price point.”

The Lenovo A6600 and A6600 Plus come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, and the company says that there is minimum bloatware in the devices. Just like the A6000, these phones have a 5-inch HD display and they offer 72% screen to body ratio. The devices come powered with the 64-bit MediaTek 6735p quad-core 1.0GHz processor and while the A6600 has 1GB RAM, the A6600 Plus has 2GB of RAM.

There is an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and it comes with a few features including automatic face detection, automatic scene detection and zero shutter delay. Also, the storage on both the devices is the same, i.e. 16GB internal with a MicroSD expansion slot. Both the phones have a 2300 mAh battery and the Dual SIM slots support 4G SIM cards with VoLTE capability.

The price for A6600 is INR 6,999 and we are yet to find out the price of the Plus variant, which could be about Rs. 1000 higher. The phones will be available from mid-September at retail stores.

The Lenovo A7700 comes with the same processor that is powering the A6600 but it has a bigger display, i.e. a 5.5-inch HD display and it has 2GB of RAM. 16GB internal storage and MicroSD card slot are provided as well and the A7700 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There are dual rear speakers with the Waves Maxxaudio support and the Waves Maxxaudio technology helps in amplifying sound while minimizing noise and voice distortions.

The 8-megapixel camera on the back of the device comes with a dual LED flash support. Also, there’s a 2900 mAh battery packed into the device and just like the A6600, there are two SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLTE support. The A7700 is priced at INR 8,540.
