RoBoHon is a personal robot that’s actually a smartphone!

Ever wanted to have a personal robot that could actually work as your companion? If you just now said “Yes!” then rejoice as this will soon become a reality! RoBoHon is a smartphone that’s actually a robot which can take pictures, book a taxi, talk with you and also sense your feelings!

RoBoHon has been developed by Sharp along with the assistance of Robo Garage CEO Tomotaka Takashi. The robot will hit the market in Japan in the second half of next year.

RoBoHon

RoBoHon comes with Android but it is not something which you have been seeing for ages on Samsung and Google devices. Sharp says that it is a phone which has a human shape, it is a phone that you would love to talk to.

RoBoHon PhoneRoBoHon is actually a smartphone but it is mostly a robot. It can click pictures automatically for you and it even comes with an in-built projector that can project different media types easily. The robot can talk back to you and also accept voice commands.

If we come to the specifications then they don’t look much fascinating, RoBoHon features 2 inch QVGA screen which holds the resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The robot features 3G, LTE as well as WiFi. The robot is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm processor which has been clocked at 1.2GHz.

It surely looks interesting, and it does more than what one would expect to see from a robot of that size. It’s fun, but does RoBoHon have enough to be called a smartphone? Won’t that be quite weird to hold up a little robot against your face to make a call? RoBoHon measures around 6 inches in height and weighs around 0.85 pounds. It even uses its hands and legs to move around, stand or even sit. Have a look what all it can do in the video below.
