Samsung Galaxy J5, J7 (2016) officially launched in India

Samsung India has launched the refreshed “J” series lineup in India, with the Galaxy J5 2016 and Galaxy J7 2016 getting officially launched having some Made for India features after the phones were launched in China in March 2016.

These are said to be selfie-focused smartphones, thanks to the inclusion of an LED flash on the front, to assist for brighter selfies. Both the smartphones, i.e. J5 and J7 2016 carry a 1080p display but the former has a 5.2-inch display while the latter comes with a slightly bigger 5.5-inch display.

Internally, the Galaxy J5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core chipset clocking at 1.2GHz along with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, and the Galaxy J7 on the other side includes 1.6GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor along with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

Even though these differ with internal specs, both the phones have the same camera combination – a 13-megapixel rear camera with F/1.9 aperture and LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens, and an LED flash support.

Both the devices run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the TouchWiz UI, and the Dual SIM devices support 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.1. The battery capacity on the Galaxy J5 2016 is 3100 mAh, while that on the J7 2016 is 3300 mAh.

The pricing of these phones is set at Rs. 13990 for the Galaxy J5, and Rs. 15990 for the Galaxy J7. Both the phones will be available exclusively on Flipkart.
