OPPO F1 Plus vs iPhone 6s Plus Camera

OPPO F1 Plus vs. iPhone 6s Plus Cameras Compared

OPPO’s selfie master phone, the F1 Plus does come with some specs to talk about. But, as the tag suggests, it is the camera that stands out as the best feature in the smartphone. There are some excellent smartphones with perfect front-facing cameras from other brands too, but one smartphone that many would get adjusted to, not caring about the specs or numbers, is the Apple iPhone.

It was quite a few of them who asked me to try taking pictures using both the smartphones simultaneously and let them know which one fared better – the OPPO F1 Plus, or the Apple iPhone 6s Plus!

To be frank, the comparison wouldn’t make sense if you look at it with the price in mind. One is priced at Rs. 26990, and the other, well over Rs. 60000. But, we aren’t comparing the phones and it is only their cameras that are put under the focus. Check out the samples below and decide which one seems better.

OPPO F1 Plus vs iPhone 6s Plus Camera

  • The F1 Plus has a 13-megapixel rear camera with F/2.2 aperture and an LED flash while the iPhone 6s Plus comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with F/2.2 aperture and a True-tone flash.
  • On the front, the OPPO F1 Plus rocks a 16-megapixel camera with F/2.0 aperture and on the other side, the Apple iPhone 6s Plus has a 5-megapixel camera with F/2.2 aperture.

Conclusion – Which is a better camera smartphone?

Although it might seem that the iPhone 6s Plus has some washing out of colors on the rear camera captures, it is far more realistic when comparing with the actual condition while taking the picture. We didn’t have the HDR mode turned activated on the OPPO F1 Plus, yet it made the green more greener, but that wasn’t as close to the reality when compared to the iPhone 6s Plus. The pictures seem a little too dark in low light environment when taken using the iPhone 6s Plus, but there is little or no change in the colors it puts out.

With the front camera captures, the OPPO F1 Plus is a clear winner, hands down. Reasons? First is with the amount of brightness, as there was no need of the screen flash or any setting, but just a simple tap on shutter icon to take those pictures. Thanks to the better aperture, more light is allowed into the camera and thus brighter captures are seen. Secondly, the colors too seem much better and realistic with the front-facing camera. Note that we are not talking about the resolution at all, because even though the F1 Plus has a better resolution, we are comparing the colors, brightness, and contrast when compared to the actual scene.

Note: These pictures are not merged and kept side-by-side for comparison, but there is no editing done to the pictures to change the colors or contrast. We will soon have the links to original pictures on our Google Photos library.
