Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus launching in India on April 19

Samsung’s much awaited Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were announced last month at the Unpacked event, and today we are hearing reports that the company will be launching the devices in India on April 19th. The company has officially tweeted about the same that reads “India, get ready to !” Though the tweet with the launch date was removed, the Facebook post is still with the date is still there for now. Whatever the reasons behind that, it is quite evident that the company will launch the flagships in the coming week in India. Pre-registrations have already begun on Samsung India’s official website.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inches Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 570ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. While the S8+ packs a larger display at 6.2-inch Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 529ppi. The Indian variant will of both the S8 and S8+ are powered by the Exynos 9 Series 8895 SoC Octa-Core processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. Both the variants packs 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB storage (UFS 2.1) with a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ run on Android 7.0 Nougat with new improved TouchWiz U.I on top. In the camera department, there is a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.55″ sensor size, OIS, 1.4µm pixel size and on the front, there is an 8-megapixel autofocus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/3.6″ sensor size, 1.22µm pixel size, 80-degree wide-angle lens.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ come with Water and dust resistant (IP68), Ultra High-Quality Audio Playback, a Fingerprint sensor for extra security. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST. A 3000mAh battery with fast Charging both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging on the S8 and 3500mAh battery with fast Charging both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging on the S8+.
