Sharp Aquos Compact and Aquos Zeta with super slim bezels and Snapdragon 808 announced

Sharp has been known to bring out devices with the thinnest bezels in the market, with these two new devices the Aquos Compact and Aquos Zeta the company has even made it a point remove the bezels on top of the display by placing the camera at the bottom of  the screen.

The Aquos Compact is the younger sibling to the Aquos Zeta, both the devices has a lot in common like the Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB clocking at 1.8GHz ARM 57 and 4GB clocking at 1.4GHz ARM A53with Adreno 430 GPU processor and 3GB RAM powering both the devices. There is a difference in the internal storage aspect with the Aquos Zeta having 32GB of inbuilt storage and Aquos Compact having 16GB storage.

The Aquos Zeta sports a 5.3-inch full HD IGZO display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels  and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection whereas the Aquos Compact has a 4.7-inch full HD IGZO display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The rear camera on both the devices is similar with a 13.1MP shooter, but the front camera on the Zeta is a 8MP shooter whereas the Compact has a 5MP camera.  The placement of the front camera in both the devices at the bottom of the display is something unique and not seen in any other devices till date.

Sharp AQUOS ZETA SH-01H:

  • Display: 5.3-inch full HD IGZO display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels  and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection
  • Processor: Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB clocking at 1.8GHz ARM 57 and 4GB clocking at 1.4GHz ARM A53with Adreno 430 GPU
  • RAM and Storage: 3GB and 32GB internal storage expandable up to 200GB using microSD card
  • Camera: 13.1MP rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture along with 8MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor
  • OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Connectivity: 4G LTE, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n /ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC
  • Battery:3100mAh in-built battery

The Aquos Zeta comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device below the camera module and the same is absent in the Aquos Compact. Both the devices support 4G LTE and other connectivity features like WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n /ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC.

Sharp Aquos Compact

Sharp AQUOS Compact SH-02H:

  • Display: 4.7-inch full HD IGZO display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution
  • Processor: Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 (2 x 1.8GHz ARM 57+ 4 x 1.4GHz ARM A53) processor with Adreno 430 GPU
  • RAM and Storage: 3GB and 16GB internal storage expandable up to 200GB using microSD card
  • Camera: 13.1MP rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture along with 5MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor
  • OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Connectivity: 4G LTE, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n /ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC
  • Battery: 2810mAh battery

The Aquos Zeta comes with a 3100mAh battery and the Aquos Compact sports a 2810mAh battery. Both the devices come with IPX5/IP6X for dust and water resistance. The Aquos Zeta comes in three colors of Blue, Black and Magenta and will be available for sale from November through NTT Docomo. The Aquos Compact comes in two colors having combinations of Yellow with Silver and Blue Black. The device will be available for sale from December through NTT Docomo. Pricing of both the devices is not yet announced and we can expect it to be revealed before the release.
