Vivo has launched their new smartphone, Vivo V9, which comes with AI selfie camera, today in an event in Mumbai. The AI selfie-centric phone comes with a 24 MP camera on the front while on the back, there is a dual-lens camera combination.
The V9 has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. The display has a notch on top and comes with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It has a 85% screen-to-body ratio and the display is covered with a 2.5D curved glass. The phone is powered by the Octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 256 GB via a MicroSD card, and that is a dedicated slot. The phone runs FunTouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Vivo V9 has dual cameras on the back, with a 16 MP F/2.0 main sensor and a 5 MP depth sensor. The dual camera setup is accompanied by a flash. On the front, we have a whopping 24 MP camera that comes with AI Face Beauty features that can predict the age, sex, skin tone, texture and surrounding light condtions and adjust the settings accordingly to get better protrait shots.. The phone’s AI features are also useful for face unlock. The V9 also has lighting features such as – Studio Light, Natural Light, Stereo Light and Monochrome light, similar to that on iOS. There’s also the AR stickers given in the camera app.
A 3260 mAh battery powers the V9 and the phone features a fingerprint sensor on the back, and also supports face unlock. The face unlock feature can be used to unlock the locked apps. The phone’s AI recognizes whether you are looking at the phone or not, and unlocks right when you look at it head-on.
The phone comes in three colors, Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue and Pearl Black ceramic. The Vivo V9 is priced at Rs. 22990 and it is going to be available from 2nd April while the pre-booking starts today at 3:00 p.m. on several channels.
