After being available in Vietnam for almost two months now, the Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has brought the Vivo Y81, to India, today. The smartphone comes with MediaTek Helio chipset & a tall 19:9 display.

The Vivo Y81 sports a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. The screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio with 2.15 mm thin bezels which results in an 88% screen-to-body ratio. Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Helio P22 SOC which is built on the 12 nm manufacturing process, with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It comes with 3 GB RAM & 32 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256 GB using a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top.

As for the cameras, the Vivo Y81 comes with a single 13 MP rear-facing camera with a f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. To the front, the phone offers a 5 MP selfie camera with a similar f/2.2 aperture.

The battery underneath is a 3260 mAh unit which charges through a microUSB port. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. The phone has support for 4G VoLTE, 802.11ac Dual-Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS. The phone weighs 146 gms and is 7.7 mm thick.

The Vivo Y81 comes in Black & Gold colors. Priced at INR 12,999, the phone is available online through Amazon India, Flipkart & Vivo Online store, in India.

Users who require more RAM can purchase the Vivo Y83 instead, which comes with identical specs as the Y81, but with 4 GB of RAM.

    This is looking intresting ! Helio P22 SOC is a good chipset ! And vivo has used it in this phone , waiting for review !

    Vivo Y81 looks like an half baked product due to HD+ at 6.22 inch display, somehow underpowered Helio P22 along with single rear camera setup, we have better options than this in indian marlet at 13k.
