Xiaomi Mi Note 2 expected to launch on Sept 5 with Dual Curved Display

Xiaomi appears to be prepping up to launch the successor to the Mi Note smartphone which is expected to be unveiled on September 5th. There has been a lot of rumors and speculations regarding the specifications of the device revealing almost all the specs of the device which surely are impressive and at par with most flagships recently launched. The latest leaked image has revealed that the device will come with a front dual-curved glass panel which has some uncanny resemblance to the Galaxy S7 Edge.

There is even a Home button at the bottom of the display similar the S7 Edge, which most likely might sport the Fingerprint sensor. Earlier leaks and rumors have revealed a lot of specifications of the device  which is said to come in three variants – 4GB RAM and two higher 6GB RAM variants will be launched with 32GB for the 4GB RAM and 64GB and 128GB storage space respectively for 6GB RAM variants. The other specifications include a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with the 4GB RAM variant to come with Full HD Resolution while the two 6GB RAM variants will sport Quad HD displays.

The Mi Note 2 is expected to come with aSnapdragon 821 Processor in all three variants. The camera set up also appears to be different in the variants with the base model getting a 16MP rear camera set up similar to the Mi 5 while the other two variants will be getting a dual 12MP camera set up on the back with OIS. It will be powered by a 4000mAh battery and comes with USB Type C, Bluetooth 4.2, wiFi, IR Blaster, NFC and the battery supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology by Qualcomm.

The pricing of the three variants in China appears to be revealed with the leak on weibo.com – the standard 4GB RAM, 32GB and Full HD – 2499 Yuan which is approximately Rs 25,000. The mid variant with 6GB RAM, 64GB and 2K display is priced at 2999 Yuan which is approx Rs 30,000 and top end variant with 6GB RAM, 128GB, 2K Edge display at 3499 Yuan which is approximately Rs 35,000. With Xiaomi most likely to launch the Redmi 4 on August 25th in China we were expecting the Mi Note 2 also to make an appearance at the same event but with the latest updates, they appear to be unveiled at two separate events.
