Redmi 3s draws inspiration from no other than Redmi Note 3, says Hugo Barra at the launch. A metal body with crafted aluminum alloy giving it a weight of 144gm, and it is curved design. A silver version with white face, a Gold version with the gold ring around the fingerprint sensor, and a Dark grey version are the options that would be available.

The Redmi 3s is already available in China for quite some time and in India, we haven’t seen a successor to the Redmi 2 Prime for months. The Redmi 3s comes with a 5-inch HD display (with the resolution 1280 x 720 pixels) and it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset (Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.1 GHz Cortex-A53) and two variants having different RAM capacity and storage options, though the device carries a MicroSD card slot for the storage expansion.

The Redmi 3s comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with the F/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. The rear camera comes with the LED flash and the camera can record 1080p videos. The 5-megapixel camera on the front comes with the F/2.2 aperture and it too can record 1080p videos.

The device comes with a fingerprint scanner (only on the 3GB RAM variant) on the back, just like on the Redmi Note 3, and the build quality as well is quite similar here – a metal body. This is a Dual SIM phone with both the slots supporting 4G SIM cards. The other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Glonass, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and MicroUSB.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3s has a 4100 mAh battery. It is a 685 WH/l battery density, and thus Xiaomi has been able to pack such a large battery in a 5-inch device.

The pricing is already out on Flipkart, with the variant having 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage priced at Rs. 6999. Check out the pricing here. There’s also a Redmi 3s Prime with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, and its pricing is set at Rs. 8999.
