ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 6GB Camera

Hands-on: ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 6GB – Is it any better?

ASUS had already done a wonderful job with the ZenFone Max Pro M1, but there was one variant of the device that was long overdue now, and the company has finally released it. The 6GB RAM variant of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is launched and this will be a quick preview of the same, letting you know of what has changed.

What’s different on the ZenFone Max Pro M1 6GB?

The rear camera has become better. The primary shooter here is a 16-megapixel one that is supported by the 5-megapixel camera for the depth sensing. The 16MP camera comes with the F/2.0 aperture size. In comparison to this, the lesser-priced models had the F/2.2 13MP camera that was not taking in much light in low light conditions.

The front camera as well is changed. There is a 16-megapixel selfie camera with the F/2.0 aperture that is better than the 8-megapixel shooter with F/2.2 aperture that was given on the 3GB and 4GB RAM models.

The RAM, as the model itself suggests, is of 6GB capacity. The phone is priced at Rs. 14999, and for this price, there is a lot of competition but the Max Pro M1 will be able to do very well.

Is the phone really better with the cameras?

The ZenFone Max Pro M1’s 6GB RAM variant is actually better than the other two, thanks to how the cameras have been made better. It was already announced during the launch of the phone earlier that the 6GB RAM model will have a different set of cameras but how better will they be, only after a test we could see the difference.

Even with the first release, the previous models didn’t have great cameras and that was because of the issues with the processing of the pictures, and the software updates that followed later had fixed some of those issues. There is nothing that has changed with the software part of the device, so the thoughts remain the same here and it is good to see that ASUS has opted for stock Android in this case instead of the ZenUI.

As you can see in the pictures, the colors don’t seem washed out in most of the pictures but then, it isn’t only this factor that we consider but also during low-light, where there is a slight improvement in the quality and lesser noise in the captures done.

Even with the selfie camera, the resolution has certainly changed and that is an advantage if you are someone who wants to crop into the pictures and still want some details to be retained, but then the bigger aperture has not really changed things a lot. It still shows some noise in low-light conditions.

The battery performed the same and it did quite well, with this being one of the best performer in terms of the battery life in this price range.

For the early view, or this may be our final view about the ZenFone Max Pro M1 6GB – The phone is still rock solid, with better cameras, which come as an advantage to the already good 3GB and 4GB variants, and the price difference is not much, keeping this under Rs. 15000 and that’s where it hits straight at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and the others.

There are certain software bugs that might still haunt the company when users report it, but some of them seem limited to particular units, so we don’t really complain as it is not common across all the units. The phone is well worth it, and it is a job well done by the company.
