Do Not Disturb Mode in Redmi 4A – What is it and how to activate?

Xiaomi launched their new budget range smartphone on 20th March named Xiaomi Redmi 4A. As the name says, it’s not an update to the Redmi 3S but to the Redmi 2 of theirs. It comes with a 5-inch 720p display along with 16GB internal storage and 2GB of RAM.

The features from the MIUI 8 includes the Do not disturb mode. The DND mode has its separate preferences based on our choices. You will not always want to make your whole phone go silent for just some disturbing calls and notifications. You might not want to take calls and see notifications while sleeping or in a particular time every day. Well, DND mode for you all who want to mute all your notifications with just one click.

Here’s how to enable the DND mode

Firstly, you will have to have your ringer volume up and turn off the silent mode if it is in silent mode. Then, all you have to do is, go to Settings> Do not disturb> and turn it on.

You have other options there as well. You might want to have the DND mode turned every day at a particular time. If you want that to be, you have to turn on the Repeat do not disturb under the Scheduled section. Then, just below that in the same section, you have Set time. You can set the time in which you want to repeat the DND mode. You also have an option ‘Activate with Mi Band’ which automates the DND mode. It will get turned on whenever your Mi Band detects that you are sleeping.

You can also have it enabled when you get repeated calls from the same number in under three minutes. To enable it, just turn the Repeated calls in the Settings section in DND mode.

You can have your priority sounds by enabling whatever you may want to not silent while in DND mode. It may be reminder, Calls, and Messages. You can also set exceptions for a certain contact you want to be notified of. To turn it on, just go to Exceptions, and select the contacts of whose notifications you want to be notified.

To turn it Off, just go back into the same and turn it off. You can also have DND as a quick toggle in your notification panel. You can now simply enable and disable whenever you want.
