How to Increase Battery Life of InFocus M812

Battery saving is one of the things users try to follow even if it a new smartphone. The InFocus M812 comes with an excellent 2900 mAh battery, and the user would want to increase the number of hours it can squeeze off a single charge. Following are a few tips and tricks to follow and improve the battery life of InFocus M812.

Before we proceed, the brightness settings and such basic ones are usually what the user already knows, so we are limiting this guide to the main tips that are possible only on this particular phone.

Use Power Detective

The Power Detective app in InFocus M812 is a very useful one for those who want to keep a check of all the happenings with the battery, and its activity. The app shows current battery temperature and lets the user know if there was any abnormal phase in the past six hours where the M812 heated up.

Under its settings, the user can set the app to remind about any abnormal battery drain or temperature rise.

LED Inactivity setup

There is LED notification light present in the InFocus M812, which lights up to let the user know about any unread notifications. It keeps blinking until the user checks those notifications, and sometimes it goes on for hours in the night. InFocus M812 has an option to turn that off after a certain amount of time. Go to Settings > Display > and LED Inactivity where you can set it to blink for a particular time, ideally about 20 minutes, before it stops blinking.

Turn off gesture features

The gesture features in InFocus M812 does well to give a good usage experience to the user, but at times, these options use battery to check if the user is going to perform an action. If you are someone conscious about the battery life, it is better to turn off these gesture features on the phone, by going to Settings > Motion. There are quite a few gesture and motion features, which you should turn on individually if you are regularly using them.

Connectivity options

Having a powerful and high-end smartphone always leads to using most of the options, and the InFocus M812 has a lot of connectivity options including 4G LTE, and other standard ones. If you around have Wi-Fi as well as Data network, it is better to turn off the data network and use Wi-Fi. Also, if you are not using any other options like Bluetooth, etc., you should consider turning them off because these options keep checking for available connections.

The GPS options should also be taken care of. Social networking apps and some other would use GPS regularly to verify the location, and it is better to set the Location settings to battery saving in the GPS settings.

Using Power Saver features

The InFocus M812 comes with a lot of power saver features, and you can correctly set them so as to save battery by a lot, and get more hours of usage and standby time. Following are the different options of power saver.

InFocus M812 Periodic wakeup

  • CPU: Limiting CPU performance to conserve battery life
  • Screen: Use lower brightness to conserve battery life
  • Data connection: Turning on/off WLAN and Mobile data when the screen is off. This can be set up for all day, or for a specific time interval every day.
  • Periodic wakeup: During suspend mode, reduce device wake up times to conserve battery life

InFocus M812 Low Power Mode

Low Power Mode: Auto turning off functions to save power when the battery level is low. You can set it to turn on automatically when the battery is on a certain level (from 5% to 95%). In this, changes can also be made to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Mobile Data, Audio effects, Animations, Vibrations, Background data and screen timeout.

Smart Switch for Wi-Fi & Hotspot

The Power Saver feature also has the Smart switch feature that would turn off WLAN and WLAN hotspot after a certain time based on what you set. It can be set between 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes.
