How to update Redmi Note 3G to MIUI v6 – Steps

Download the ROM from this link.

Once the file is downloaded, change its name to update.zip, and copy this file to the root directory of your Redmi Note’s root folder.

Go to the Updater app in your Redmi Note smartphone, and in that, tap on “Reboot to Recovery mode” option. This will take the device to Recovery mode after a restart. Alternatively you can enter Recovery mode by turning off the phone and then pressing and holding “Power + Volume up” button together.

In the recovery mode, the navigation between options is possible by using the power button to select and volume buttons to go up or down. Choose the language here, and then select “Install update.zip to System One”. The file will get detected and the update will begin automatically.

Once the update is completed, you will see the Redmi Note 3G rebooting to a new ROM, i.e. the v6 of MIUI. If you feel this is not easy or you don’t want to risk and lose the data, you better wait for the OTA update that could arrive anytime soon, because this is the official update being sent by Xiaomi.
