Xiaomi rolls out MIUI 7 ROM globally starting from October 27th

Xiaomi, which had introduced the MIUI 7 custom ROM in August along with the Redmi Note 2, there were Beta ROM’s released as OTA updates for developer versions at the end of august. According to the MIUI blog post, which stated, “We are really excited to announce MIUI 7 global stable build for MIUI fans all around the world. With two months of testing and optimization, MIUI 7 global stable version is to roll out from Oct. 27, 2015. Yours by design! Get ready for upgrade!,”

As usual the update will be rolled out to all compatible smartphones through the Update app. The list of MIUI 7 compatible devices are Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G as these were the devices which received the MIUI 7 developer build. The Chinese variants of the devices will also be receiving the update on the same date.

The MIUI 7 Global stable version will be released as OTA update and will be done in phases gradually, depending on your model you will receiving the update. If you want to do it with OTA update you have to wait for it to arrive, if you cannot wait then head to the – MIUI download page and download the ROM package which will be available from next Tuesday.

There are a lot of changes in the MIUI 7 which include four new themes called Rose, Pink Blush, Ocean Breeze and High Life, these themes have complete games on the lock screen, to keep it exciting a daily lock screen feature which changes the wallpaper every day is also present.The response time is increased by 30% compared to the MIUI 6. Battery is improved by 10% thanks to the reduction in overall modem power consumption and background restrictions apps.XXL font is included and a baby album feature which recognises baby faces and creates albums a great feature for parent with kids. A smart SMS filter has been added to MIUI 7 to filter service messages into a separate notification tab.

The MIUI 7 integration with Mi Band has also been improved, now your Mi phone will be automatically put into Do Not Disturb mode when the band detects that the user is asleep. Overall the MIUI 7 is a great new UI developed by Xiaomi keeping in mind users needs as well as the design, this is the only UI in which you cannot differentiate which Android OS version you are using.
