Apple’s new iPad Pro comes with a 10.5-inch True Tone display, Slimmer bezels

Apple made a big number of announcements at the WWDC 2017 keynote and one of the important announcements was about the iPad. The large screen tablets that were introduced long back had seen a new variety in 2015 when Apple made the iPad Pro official. There were two models, one with the 9.7-inch display and the other with a 12.9-inch display. Now, we get to see a completely new size sitting at a sweet spot between the two, as the new iPad Pro has a 10.5-inch display.

This new tablet is basically a replacement for the 9.7-inch model and while it is 20% bigger with the display size, there is a reduction in the bezel size by 40%, thus making the new iPad Pro as good a size as the predecessor. This new iPad Pro comes with a True Tone display and this is meant to adjust the color temperature based on the conditions around. Also, the display has got a maximum brightness of 600 nit and there is the wide P3 color gamut.

Internally, the new iPad Pro is powered by the A10X Fusion chip with a six-core CPU and that is assisted by the 12-core GPU, which, according to Apple will give about 40% improvement in graphic output. For the imaging, there is a new 12-megapixel camera (and a 7MP FaceTime HD camera) with optical image stabilization and a high-speed sensor with a F/1.8 aperture. The rear camera is assisted by the quad-LED True Tone Flash and it can capture 4K videos.

The new iPad Pro also has the support for fast charging and it is said to get a 10-hour battery life. Unlike earlier, the iPad Pro base variant starts with 64GB internal storage and that model costs $649 while the 256GB variant would cost $749 and Apple has also introduced the 512GB iPad Pro with the price tag of $949. This new iPad model will be shipping next week, though it would still be running iOS 10 as the new iOS 11 is going to be released during the fall and will be available as an update at that time.
