Reliance Jio to soon offer 6-series numbers to customers

Reliance’s new sensation in the telecom industry; Jio which debuted back in last year has a subscriber base over 50 million in India and is aiming to cross 100 million in the coming days. To meet the user requirement, Jio has been allotted new MSC codes in the 6-series mobile numbers by the telecom department (DoT) in Rajasthan, Assam and Tamil Nadu telecom zones.

This new development will allow the company to allocate new 6-series numbers to users who wish to join the Jio family. According to the notification from telecom department’s access services department, Reliance jio been allotted 60010-60019 MSC codes in Rajasthan, 60020-60029 MSC codes in Assam and 60030-60039 in Tamil Nadu. The 7-series MSC codes were being allocated in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, and the 8-series 8 MSC codes in Kolkata and Maharashtra telecom zones.

With over 21.02 million subscriber growth in India’s telecom sector, with most of the users are added with the launch of Reliance Jio, all the existing numbers starting with 7, 8 and nine will be exhausting soon, and now the new 6-series is introduced to cater to the fast growing subscriber base in India.

Back in 1993, the first numbering plan was presented, followed by a 2003 new plan and after seeing the rapid growth in the telecom industry, department of telecom has assigned “0” for STD calls and “1” for special numbers like Police, Fire, and Ambulance, etc.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited has been actively working to get its different services across into the market and one of them spotted recently was the Jio DTH service.Jio DTH service. The company is also said to be almost set for the broadband service under the JioFiber brand name.
