Xiaomi as a brand is quite famous internationally. Mainly for the pocket friendly Smartphones they put out in the market with high end features and specifications, enough to impress anyone who wants a beast of a Smartphone without shedding a lot of cash.
However, the products that Xiaomi has released in recent times gives a very good sense about where the company is headed to. They are not just interested to manufacture Smartphones, but also televisions, water purifiers, LED lamps and what not.
Talking about televisions, Xiaomi just announced their latest product entry into the television category, the Xiaomi Mi TV 2S.
Talking about the Mi TV 2S, its the second generation of the Mi TV series from Xiaomi. And what makes it something special is surely its thinness at just 9.9mm. The TV has a 48 inch 4K display which can decode the content at 60Hz. The display is a 10-bit panel made by Samsung and the company claims a NTSC color gamut coverage of 85%. Moreover, the TV is also said to have about 18% more color saturation than competitive models and prevents light leakage as well, with the help of its backlight module design that is precise enough.
The hardware specifications of the Xiaomi Mi TV 2S include a 1.4 GHz quad core CPU, Mali T760MP4 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, an USB 3.0 port, Wifi ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports as well.
As for any other Xiaomi product, the only let down about this television is that it will be only available in China initially, and global expansion, as always, might take quite some time.
As for the Chinese out there, the Xiaomi Mi TV 2S will cost you 2,999 Yuan (approx. $485). The company also is bringing a separate Cinema edition of this TV with a price tag of 3,999 Yuan (approx. $645) and will also feature a dedicated speaker system with a subwoofer and a sound bar placed horizontally.
Both these products will be available for purchase from the 22nd of July. Xiaomi has partnered with sellers like Youkum PPTV, BesTV etc., to expand the sales.
