Griffin BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Cable brings Magsafe to Macbook

Apple had decided to let Magsafe go, and the company adopted USB Type-C with the new Macbook that was launched in 2015. While during the entire year we saw several accessories that would help in some or the other way, to get the functionality along onto the Type-C port. But what Griffin has announced at the CES 2016, is what the Macbook users might be waiting for.

The Griffin BreakSafe Magnetic USB Type-C power cable is designed the way a Magsafe adapter would be, with the name suggesting that it won’t break the laptop or the port when people accidentally trip over the cable. Macbooks always had that safety over the other laptops, because those were magnetic power ports that would easily come off without damaging the laptop. The USB Type-C connectivity doesn’t have that.

Since USB Type-C is the talk of the town, Griffin is also announcing a few other Type-C accessories that include wall chargers, charging cables, and a car charger as well, most of which would be useful for the Smartphones with USB Type-C connectivity.

While these products will be available later in the year, the Breaksafe Magnetic power cable will be available from April 2016, and it will retail for the price of $39.99.
