Dell has done some big announcements at the CES 2017 event in Las Vegas. One in the list is the new XPS 27 all-in-one PC that is made with serious audio enhancements, the department where most of the AiO PCs lack great performance.
The new desktop has six speakers on the front — four covering the mid and bass frequencies, plus dedicated tweeters in each corner — along with two more down-firing, full-range speakers and a pair of passive radiators. This audio setup is made in collaboration with music producer Jack Joseph Puig, a PC speaker maker that makes big claims all the time, and this time for the Dell PC, it is claimed that the sound output is twice as high on volume when compared to the 27-inch Apple iMac, and has 10 times the bass of HP’s Envy 27.
While the display has 4k resolution, there are two variants, one with the touchscreen and other without one. For the power, there are choices again like Core i5-6400 or the Core i7-6700 and the maximum clock speed with Intel Turbo Boost is up to 3.3 GHz and 4 GHz respectively. A maximum of 32GB of RAM comes packed but power users can add more later to a maximum of 64GB. Storages of 1TB to 2TB SSD are given as options. The XPS 27 comes with two USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 ports, five USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI output, headphone jack, and SD card reader.
The new XPS 27 PCs are going to be sold with a price starting at $1499 and the best one will cost $1999, and for that price, there is some excellent hardware packed in, with a choice of options.
