ARCHOS Diamond Plus launched with Full HD display, Android 5.1

ARCHOS is setting up a decent list of smartphones for the IFA 2015 event with a few smartphones and a tablet device, and the latest device, the Archos Diamond Plus, is the fifth device announced after the Diamond Tab, Diamond S, 50e Helium and 50 Cesium. Coming to the specifications, it sports a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS Full Lamination display with 180p resolution. It is powered by an 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with Mali-T720 MP3 GPU and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 OS.

It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space which can be further expanded using microSD card. Coming to the design, the Diamond Plus comes with a slightly curved back casing which is silver in color and measures 152.6×76.4×8.4 mm in dimensions and weighs 179 grams in weight. The smartphone sports a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and 5P lens. The front facing camera is a 8MP shooter which comes with wide angle lens.

It comes with Dual-SIM support and is 4G LTE enabled along with 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The device is powered by a 2850mAh battery.The other two devices launched by ARCHOS in the Diamond series are the Diamond S and the Diamond Tab which will also be showcased in the IFA event in Berlin. The ARCHOS Diamond Plus is the bigger version of the Diamond S which comes with similar specifications of a 1.5GHz Octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM and 13MP rear and 8MP front facing cameras, along with Dual SIM options which supports 4G LTE.

The ARCHOS Diamond Plus is priced at £179.99 which is approximately $275 or Rs. 18,260. The availability of the device is from November 2015 and we can get the first glimpse of the device in IFA 2015 which starts from September 4th in Berlin. With a bunch of devices announced by ARCHOS to be showcased in IFA 2015, the company is planning to take on the competition in a big way this year.
