Coolpad Mega 2.5D with 3GB RAM, 8MP Front camera launched for Rs. 6999

Coolpad India has launched a new smartphone in the budget series, adding to the Coolpad Note 3 and Note 3 Lite, which are two good devices for their price, and after bringing out a flagship Coolpad Max that didn’t do so well, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D is the newly launched smartphone that, as the name suggests, has a 2.5D glass on the front.

Coolpad Mega 2.5D comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, a 1GHz MediaTek MT6735P processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage with a MicroSD card slot. The front 2.5D glass looks much similar to that of the Coolpad Max and it adds much to the good looks of the phone.

This time, Coolpad has focused on the front-facing camera for selfies, as the Coolpad Mega 2.5D comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 83.6-degree wide-angle lens. On the back is an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. There are, of course, some software enhancements done by Coolpad for the camera, with modes like professional HDR, GIF, etc. included in the app.

It is a Dual SIM device but the second SIM slot is a hybrid one allowing the user to either insert a SIM card or a MicroSD card. There is support for 4G LTE and VoLTE, and the other standard connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

It is the CoolUI 8.0 based on Android Marshmallow OS that you would see running on the Coolpad Mega 2.5D. The device is priced at Rs. 6999, which is indeed a good price for what is offered here. It will be available in Golden Hue option and it is going to be available exclusively on Amazon India, with the first sale being on August 24th at 2 p.m.
