Gionee S9 has leaked again. This time, an official poster from the company has confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will feature a front flash and dual camera set-up. From the leaked poster, we also get to know that the forthcoming Android handset will launch on November 15, 2016. The Gionee S9 is expected to be a mid-range device with a price tag of around 2800 Yuan (Rs. 27,700 approx.) which puts it right against the Huawei Honor 8.
Beside this official teaser image, a couple of live images of the upcoming mobile has surfaced online. In the photos, we can see a matt black colored variant of the smartphone. It is running Gionee’s custom user interface presumably on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. At the back of the device, there are longitudinally placed dual camera lens with a LED flash beside it. The Gionee S9 looks nice in the pictures with its chamfered edges and user-friendly ergonomics. The phone probably sports a metal unibody build with the fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button on the front.
According to the information obtained from TENAA listing and benchmarking apps, the Gionee S9 will come with decent specifications. Up front, the smartphone will house a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p IPS LCD panel covered with a 2.5D curved glass. Coming to internals, the MediaTek Helio P10 SoC is expected to power up the upcoming handset. But considering that the exact same chipset is present inside its predecessor the Gionee S8, the processor may be upgraded to an Helio P15 or P20.
The Gionee S9 shall sport 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM combined with 64 GB of internal storage. Speaking of the camera, the future smartphone will rock a 13 MP selfie shooter assisted with a dedicated LED flash. The primary camera will consist of a 13 MP snapper combined with a 5 MP one. This dual camera arrangement is expected to play with the depth of field of the images. This is very different from the Huawei Honor 8 which uses its dual camera to enhance low light capabilities.
Talking about the battery performance, the Gionee S9 will pack a 3000mAh cell. This should provide a decent power backup to the smartphone. Gionee is speculated to offer the handset in two different color choices namely Gold and Black. Stay tuned to know about the price and further details after its official launch on November 15.
