How to Increase Battery Life of InFocus M680

The InFocus M680 smartphone comes with a 2600 mAh battery, and the interface is quite simple to see that the phone doesn’t eat up a lot of battery, and the charged up device stays for a long time before asking for the charger again. The phone has a 1080p display and an octa-core processor, and there is a lot any user would do to take advantage of it.

Following are a few tips and tricks to be followed if you want to make the battery life better on the InFocus M680 smartphone. Remember, most of the basic steps are usually known to people and thus we aren’t including those, but the ones that matter and help save some battery while using the phone as usual.

Battery saving tips for Infocus M680

Turning off auto brightness

Not that it is a case with every phone, but the InFocus M680 showed a significant difference in battery drain when the auto brightness was on and off. When the brightness was manually set to less than half the level, it drained lesser battery than when it was set to auto, and the sensors worked quickly to keep changing the brightness, so it is better not to have the Auto brightness turned on.

Turn off Gesture and Motion features

The gesture and motion features usually help a lot with user experience and makes things not just easier but interesting as well. But at times, these are the features that eat up a lot of battery of the phone because they use sensors to recognise is the user is using any motions. It is better to not use have the motion features turned on if you really aren’t taking advantage of them.

Location Settings

GPS drains the battery of Android smartphones pretty much, and when set to Accurate, it is the fastest battery drain seen. Whenever you are not using apps like Maps where you might want to know your location, turn GPS off in the Settings, or set it to Battery saving, because there are some apps that would regularly check for the location and will drain the battery in the background.

To change the GPS settings, go to Settings > Location, and here, change the mode to Battery saving, which will use WLAN and cellular networks to determine location.

Standby intelligent power saving

It is a feature that intelligently manages the background apps and tasks when the phone is on standby, and when the user is not actively using it. This is available as a direct option in the InFocus M680, and you can turn it on by going to Settings > Battery, and the setting shows up here.

Kill background apps

Sometimes, having apps in the background doesn’t affect much, but there are a few apps that would keep draining battery since they keep themselves active in the background. You cannot judge which one is the culprit, so it is better to always kill all the apps that are running in the background, from time to time.

Use Power Saver modes

The InFocus M680 comes with a few power saver modes, i.e. options that can extend the battery life by setting itself up in a way that certain functions automatically turn off when not in use. Under the battery settings, you will find these power saver settings, including Data connection options, periodic wakeup, low power mode, and smart switch. Let’s talk about each in detail.

  • Data connection: You can choose to turn off WLAN and Mobile data on a scheduled time, or for the whole day whenever the screen is turned off.
  • Periodic wakeup: When on suspend mode, the wake up times are reduced so that battery is saved. You can add any apps to be in the exception list.
  • Low power mode: This will automatically turn off certain functions when battery falls to a certain set temperature. The functions include WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS, Mobile Data, animations, vibrations, background data and adjustment of screen timeout.
  • Smart switch: This is a function where WLAN and hotspot are turned off automatically after a period of inactivity.

The above power saver functions can be modified by the user based on how much they need to save the battery, and this ends the list of tips that you need to follow, to increase the battery life of InFocus M680.
