Huawei P9 gets EVA-L09C432B182 Update with Bug Fixes, Optimizations

Huawei P9, one of the very successful smartphones from Huawei with the dual-lens rear camera has got a software update with several bug fixes and optimizations but there is no update to the Android Nougat OS as the device stays at Android Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1 in India.

The EVA-L09C432B182 update was already sent to the units in U.S. and U.K. earlier and finally, as it arrives in India, here is the change log for you to see what is changed.

  • The update adds an email printing feature and optimizes several functions and the UI display
  • Added a feature that enables you to save a slow-mo video as a new video
  • Fixed an issue where the weekly display button in Calendar is not localized
  • Fixed an issue where some UI elements are displayed incorrectly
  • Optimized your device name to be consistent in all scenarios
  • Optimized the prompts you receive when you insert a headset
  • Optimized several shortcuts in the drop down menu
  • Optimized several app icons on the home screen
  • Improved the UIs on the contacts screen
  • Optimized the Huawei Swype input screen

The update should already pop-up on the device if you are connected to Wi-Fi and if it doesn’t, you can go to the Settings > About and there, check for any updates if available. Although the update doesn’t affect the internal storage, it is better to backup the data on the phone before you hit the Update button.

The Huawei P9 in India is yet to receive the Android Nougat update. We will keep a check for the same and update it here whenever the OTA notification arrives.
