Airtel offering 10GB free data to select subscribers, to be used in Jan 2017

Airtel India has started its efforts to retain the subscribers that it has and doesn’t want to lose to Jio 4G, which will be commercially launching on Jan 1st, 2017. One of the Airtel subscribers has got an SMS that their number has got 10GB of free 4G data without any charge, and that includes 5GB day and 5GB night data.

Though the SMS also says that the user can take advantage of this only from January 1st, there was no recharge needed to be done and the move seems to be in line with the commercial launch of Jio 4G network.

As is the case with Airtel always, the night data will be applicable from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. The thing that is noticeable here is that the loyal Airtel users aren’t seeing this message but the ones who have tried to port their number to any other network in the past are receiving this offer.

It is an offer seen only for the Prepaid users for now as no Postpaid user has mentioned anything about it. We haven’t put up any porting request so haven’t got any such offer but for those who tried doing so have seen this message available.

Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and Tata Docomo have been trying to keep their subscribers adhered to them ever since the Reliance Jio network was introduced on September 1st, and the actual scenario will be seen from January 1st 2017 when the commercial launch of the Jio network happens.
