There are days when you prefer to eat something from your favorite restaurant instead of home made food but couldn’t manage to go there. What about the same food from your favorite restaurant being delivered to your home, even if it’s freezing cold or burning heat outside? Well, here we list some of the best Android apps which will allow you to order food from your favorite restaurants and get it delivered to your home.
There are a lot of them, but we have the curated list with most of the apps we have personally used.
- Tinyowl Covering the major cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune, Tinyowl has a good presence and it is their delivery boys who would go to the restaurant and pick up the food package for delivery, so you don’t have to wait for the restaurant’s confirmation or delivery information. The status of the same is updated live on their app, and you can submit live feedback if the order doesn’t arrive in time.
- Swiggy
Our favorite from the list is Swiggy, because you get a very good and big list of restaurants to choose from, and the ordering is similar to Tinyowl where it is Swiggy who handles the deliveries. There are timely offers available as well, and as far as the personal experience goes, about 90% of the orders arrived within the stated time.

- Zomato
Zomato is now currently the biggest restaurant search engine of India. Zomato has a collection of popular restaurants, outlets or even small food vendors in their database. You can read reviews for all the restaurant listing and can order food of your choice. If you’re a foodie, you should definitely install Zomato on your smartphone.
- FoodPanda
Food Panda is famous for it’s excellent home delivery service from even the smallest restaurant of the city. Their app allows you to create your profile, read reviews or different restaurants and add them as your favorite for the next time. FoodPanda also provides huge occasional discounts for their customers. Although, their service is currently available in a limited number of cities, they are still working on expanding their services all over the India.
- TravelKhana
Yes, this is another food ordering service app but what makes it different from others is the service of delivering food at one of your selected railway stations. This is a pretty useful app for the people who travel by train as TravelKhana will deliver the food from one of the selected food outlets of the city near to your selected railway station.
- Dominos Pizza
Dominos doesn’t need any introduction. Their app allows you to order Pizzas or other items from the Dominos outlets of your city and get it delivered for free at your doorstep. You can keep track records of your orders. Dominos also provides lots of discount coupons for their mobile app users so it would always be an advantage ordering items from Dominos using their mobile app instead of a phone call.
- FoodMingo If you are living in Hyderabad, FoodMingo should definitely be Installed on your Android smartphone. They are providing food delivery services for over 200 restaurants in Hyderabad. You can order all sorts cuisines from the list of 200 restaurants Hyderabad and get it delivered on your doorstep. They also support various payment option including cash-on-delivery.
- TastyKhana TastyKhana is yet another food delivery service which is available in all the big cities of the country and covering more than 7000 restaurants. Although TastyKhana is new in the business but their service has received positive reviews from all the users. They are currently expanding their business but if TastyKhana is available is your city, they are worth giving a try. TastyKhana allows you to pay through net banking, debit/credit cards or even cash-on-delivery.
- Just Eat Although we’re not a fan of Just Eat due to it’s limited coverage but they are considered as good as Foodpanda. Just Eat is available only in the metro cities but they cover most of the big restaurants of that particular city. You can order your food and pay through debit/credit cards, net banking or even cash-on-delivery. They also run a campaign where they provide 20% discount to the first time user.
