Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro with 5.84-inch 19:9 display, 4000 mAh battery announced in India

Xiaomi has launched their latest Redmi smartphone in their 6-series, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, today, in India. The Redmi 6 Pro is one of the very devices from the Chinese Electronics maker to feature a notched display. The Android One variant of the Redmi 6 Pro was launched in Spain back in July, dubbed as Mi A2 Lite.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro.sports a 5.84-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of Full HD+ (1080×2280). As mentioned above, the Redmi 6 Pro comes with a notched display, with a 79.5% screen-to-body ratio and 19:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi’s beloved Snapdragon 625 SOC powers the smartphone, with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage variants. There’s also room for storage expansion up to 256 GB via the dedicated microSD card slot.

For cameras, the Redmi 6 Pro features dual camera setup on the back. There’s a 12 MP primary shooter which has 1.25 um pixels with a f/2.2 aperture, and a secondary 5 MP unit with 1.12 um pixels and a similar f/2.2 aperture. The primary 12 MP camera has Phase Detection Autofocus, while the secondary sensor is solely used for capturing depth information for background blur in portrait shots. To the front, the notch houses a 5 MP selfie shooter which has a f/2.0 aperture.

A massive 4000 mAh unit powers the Redmi 6 Pro, which supports 10 W charging. For connectivity, the phone includes 4G VoLTE, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, GLONASS. The phone also includes an IR Blaster which offers Quick Remote functionalities. The phone comes with a micro USB port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Pricing and Availability of Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro comes in Black, Blue, Gold and Red colors. The 3 GB RAM variant is priced for INR 10,999 whereas the 4 GB RAM variant goes for INR 12,999. The phone will be exclusive to Amazon India and Mi.com and will go on sale starting September.

  1. Noe their’s a need to CHANGE the design. Rest all is Decent. Notch is bigger but its doesn’t bother me. Do bother is the Price and that FRONT camera. Anyway, good article.
