The newest air purifier is sports axial fans to push air upwards smoothly and consistently. Japan-based Nidec has manufactured the brushless DC motor which houses inside the Mi Air Purifier 2. The advanced appliance features a 9-blade arrangement of axial and turbine fans. This helps it to generate high wind flow. The mechanism works by taking in polluted air from the base and then purify and push out clean air through the top. Xiaomi’s latest appliance sports highly efficient tapered air ducts manufactured with high-grade plastics sourced from Samsung and Toray.
Speaking of the filter, Xiaomi excels in this aspect by roping in a high-density EPA filter along with activated carbon filter. The former is used as the primary filter, and it removes dust and condensed fumes, minute particles, tiny plant pollens and hair or furs. The inbuilt EPA filter is capable of extracting out PM2.5 impurities and even PM0.3 to 0.5 ones. The carbon filter helps in cleaning up of the odor producing chemicals, formaldehyde and more. The filter replacement process is very simple. The Mi Home app will regularly update you about the filter conditions and notify you if any filter change is required.
The Mi Air Purifier 2 is extremely power efficient and consumes just 4.8 W of electricity, which is further reduced in the energy saving modes. The appliance operates very silently with the help of its advanced noise reduction and wind resisting techniques.
