Coolpad Note 5 is a new mid-range smartphone with high-end features. The latest smartphone from Coolpad is the successor of the Coolpad Note 3 and sports 4 GB of RAM, 8-core Snapdragon 617 CPU, 4G VoLTE and a large 4010mAh battery. The newly launched handset will be available for purchase exclusively from Amazon.in at Rs.10,999.
The Coolpad Note 5 boasts a premium aluminum unibody construction. Upfront, there is 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p IPS LCD panel. This is a 2.5D curved display similar to the recently launched Coolpad Mega 2.5D. The latest phone flaunts an impressive 78 percent screen to body ratio.
Internally, the brand new handset packs in the octa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC. It packs in eight Cortex A53 cores running at a maximum speed of 1.5 GHz combined with Adreno 405 GPU. This is a rather mid-range chip and comes nowhere near the performance of the Snapdragon 650 or 652 inside Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 or LeEco Le 2, the chief competitors of the Coolpad Note 5.
The newest smartphone is top notch regarding storage. It carries a 4 GB Ultra-Fast RAM module along with 32 GB of inbuilt storage. The Coolpad Note 5 even supports micro SD cards up to 64 GB capacity and OTG connectivity.
Coming to the camera, the Note 5 sports an autofocus 13 MP rear unit along with an 8 MP front shooter. The primary camera features six-piece lens set-up and f/2.2 aperture size. The selfie unit also has a six lens camera module with f/2.2 sized aperture. Dedicated LED flashlights are present both at the back and the front of the smartphone.
The dual SIM Coolpad Note 5 supports 4G and VoLTE (Voice over LTE). Thus it is entirely compatible with Reliance Jio and eligible for the Jio Welcome Offer. Other necessary connectivity options include single-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, etc. There is a fingerprint sensor present just below the primary camera module.
