LeEco Le 1s is for sure a good smartphone for its price, and one of the reasons added to the list is the regular software updates being sent to it. These updates bring along some good changes, fixing a lot of issues that users are facing and the latest update is no exception for that.

Tutorial to update Le 1s to eui 5.5.012S version

Just like MIUI, the EUI from LeEco has a manual local update option available for the users to perform a manual update by using the update file. Here’s the file to download: Link

Once you download the package, rename it to “update” by going to the File manager if you downloaded the file on your phone directly, and then move it to the root directory of the Le 1s. If you downloaded the update file on your computer, transfer it.

Find the app called System Update under Tools and open it. Go to Settings in the app and then, tap on “Local update”. The phone will try to find the update file, and once found, you can hit Continue for the update to begin.

Le 1s Local Update

We have seen this working on the Le X507 and Le X500 models, so you should be fine in trying the update, but before doing that, make sure you take a proper backup of all the important data so that you don’t have to be sorry later if you see the phone getting reset and all files lost, even though that shouldn’t happen.

Earlier than this, a 45MB delta update was also sent to the phones, but it didn’t carry a lot of change log. This one, with the size of 1.1GB has a lot to offer and it is said to be tackling all the camera problems that the users were facing. One of the important changes here is with the auto-launch management, which is a new feature added for apps to prevent unwanted apps from launching automatically.

Have any issues about the update? also, are you facing any new problem after updating the Le 1s to the latest EUI version? do comment here. Waiting for the Marshmallow update for Le 1s? it is currently in internal testing.

  1. Is this 1.1GB update tested by you ?
I m getting the update, but when I try to install it. In the recovery section it says you have rooted your phone.

    1. Yes, I’ve updated it and it is working pretty fine. I haven’t rooted the device so not sure whether you would be able to update it through recovery. Did you go through the Local update option?

    1. How can that be a 237MB one? You probably couldn’t download the full one, because the same 5.5.012S update is of 1.1GB in size. Check the file I linked to in the guide.

  2. Updating is quiet easy. No need to download 1.1gb file but just click on ota update notification that appears on your le1s screen. Mine was 200mb and updated in few minutes itself.
I will just request letv to release android 6 to compete the market competitors.

  3. Silly Guys! Why are you fighting over the size, The 237 udpate is a delta OTA (over the air) update (Which means that only the changed files are going to be downloaded and updated). This is for the people who havent played ( like root) with their phone. This is small because you just download the changed files and you do it directly from your phone (and also it is kept small so that you can use your data connection to download it)

The 1.1 GB update is also the same one but with the complete OS. This is for those who want to do a fresh update(who have already rooted their phones).

There is no difference between both

    1. Hi Friend.. I was facing the same issue. Did the following trick:-

      1) Renamed the file from update.zip to only update (without any extension).
      2) Went to System update >> Local Update and message popped that update file is not found.
      3) again renamed back the file to update.zip
      4) Went back to System update >> Local Update and update was done successfully.

Ensure that it is named as update.zip not Update.zip

  4. Unfortunately, I rooted the phone and now I cand have the auto system Update. Thankfully, the manual update is also available, but I didnt understand one thing. What is the root directory? Where I can find it? Please tell me. Thanks!

  5. i have rooted before but after that i have unrooted by kingroot does there is any help that i can get my phone normal because when i try to update In the recovery section it says you have rooted your phone but i have unrooted please help me to get my phone as normal
