How to use Reading Mode & reduce Background Glare in Redmi Note 3

Smartphones have become so important for users these days, as much as the users would want to spend hours before even hitting the bed. But, little do most of us know about the harmful effects of the display when watching it in dark conditions. The blue light and the background glare harms the brain activity.

While there are apps that can automate and make the screen go green or just reduce the blue light output every night, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 with MIUI comes with options under display settings to make it easy on the eyes and brain while reading in low light conditions. It is called the Reading Mode and it can be activated from the Display settings.

Reading Mode in Redmi Note 3 – How to use

You can activate the Reading Mode by going to Settings > Display > Reading mode, and turn it ON. This will reduce the background glare and display will have too less of Blue color, though based on your comfort, you can set the strength of the same.

Update the list of “Reading Mode” using apps automatically

Though it might not work as you would have liked it to, the auto update of apps that will activate Reading Mode is the easiest way to set things up. Under the same settings, you will need to tap on “Update automatically” when the phone is connected to the Internet.

Manually select apps which work with Reading Mode

If you are actually thinking to take advantage of the reading mode, you should have a set list of apps to work with Reading Mode. You can either have all the apps to use reading mode, or select apps for the same.

We’d suggest to take the manual option and select the apps where you either are going to read a lot of text or are going to watch movies or pictures and are okay with the difference in colors. It, in the end, is going to be easy on your eyes so you need to have this working.
