Lenovo Vibe P1 starts receiving Marshmallow update

Lenovo has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Vibe P1 in India. This update comes after the K3 Note and the A7000 received the Marshmallow update in India recently. the update will be available as over-the-air (OTA) update and has a size of 1.67GB. With the new update, there will be changes in App Permissions, Web Experience, Power and Charging along with the inclusion of the Doze battery saving feature.

Doze battery saver option uses motion detection to stop apps from running in the background when the phone is in standby excluding some features like alarm etc.Lenovo in a post mentioned recently that, they will be rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for Vibe P1, P1A42 etc over the next few days. But many users from India mentioned that they have started receiving the update.

You can check your device for the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update and start the process automatically. Make sure that you backup all the data on your SD card as the update screen mentions, data from the SD card might be lost after the update and it is best to back up before starting the process.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update (p1a42_S152_160126_ROW_TO_p1a42_S263_160427_ROW) for the Lenovo P1 smartphone is 1.67GB in size. Make sure the device is charged up and you are connected to a stable network as the download and installation may take a lot of time based on your Network or WiFi speed. All your saved Fingerprints will be lost and you need to register your fingerprint again after the upgrade.
