Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo is the Tesla Model X rival

Last year, we saw the Mission E from Porsche which an all-electric four doored rival to the Tesla Model S. While the Mission E won’t be going on sale until late 2019, the manufacturer hasn’t been constrained from working upon the aesthetic design of the car. The German car maker has now showcased at the Geneva Motor Show, a Tesla Model X rival, the Mission E Cross Turismo.

The Cross Turismo is yet another concept from the manufacturer and is filled with fancy designs putting it far from production ready. There are LED lights that go around and across the illuminated Porsche logo on the back while the front logo is more simplistically rendered in monochrome. The car supports wireless charging and the receiving pad sits between the rear seats.

Porsche is calling the Cross Turismo as a CUV or a Cross Utility vehicle which according to the company is a more refined SUV. The wheels arches are protected to withstand harsh riding, the car comes with a higher ride height and has chunky tires along with fog lamps making it a very rugged car. Despite all the rugged features, the car is neither heavy nor chunky in looks, the Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo is very slim and true to the Porsche design language.

Inside the Porsche Mission E, the company has gone with a very minimal design that is very much uncluttered and is hugely dominated by screens. The dash has an 11-inch infotainment display which displays additional information that the HUD on the windscreen can’t show.

The car is based on the same chassis as the Mission E and comes with two electric motors, one for the front axle and another for the rear, this helps the car go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds while topping out at 155 mph. The car can also reach a speed of 125 mph in under 12 seconds and has a range of up to 250 miles.
