Apple has announced an updated 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by its M6 chip. The laptop brings a 12-core CPU and GPU, faster wireless connectivity, and improved on-device AI performance, with pricing in India starting at ₹2,39,900.
Available in Space Black and Silver, the new model goes up for pre-order on October 28, with deliveries and retail availability beginning November 6.
M6 brings more CPU and GPU cores
The M6 chip features a 12-core CPU comprising two super cores, four performance cores, and six efficiency cores. It also includes a 12-core GPU and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine.
Apple claims up to 30% faster graphics and up to 25% faster AI workloads compared with M5. These are company benchmark claims; results will vary by application and configuration.
The laptop starts with 16GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD. Memory options extend to 24GB and 32GB, while storage can be configured up to 4TB.
Liquid Retina XDR display and updated connectivity
The MacBook Pro features a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with a 3024×1964 resolution, adaptive ProMotion refresh rates up to 120Hz and peak HDR brightness of 1,600 nits. A nano-texture display option is also available.
Connectivity includes three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple lists transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps for the Thunderbolt ports.
Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, a 12MP Center Stage camera and a six-speaker sound system. The laptop runs macOS 27 Golden Gate, with Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features.
Up to 24 hours of claimed battery life
Apple rates the M6 model for up to 24 hours of video streaming or up to 16 hours of wireless web browsing.
These are separate test results, rather than a promise of 24 hours under every workload. Actual endurance will depend on applications, settings, and usage.
